Genesis 1:10 — Land and Seas
Scripture: Genesis 1:10 “God called the dry land ‘earth,’ and the gathering of the waters He called ‘seas’; and God saw that it was good.” The Rhythm God gathers the waters. Dry land appears. Then God names what has been revealed. The dry land is called earth. The gathered waters are called seas. This is the rhythm continuing. God speaks, creation responds, boundaries form, and God gives names. The world is no longer formless. It is receiving shape, place, and purpose. Then Scripture says, “God saw that it was good.” This is the first time “good” is spoken after land and seas are named. The goodness is not in their usefulness to humanity yet. Humanity has not been formed. The goodness comes because God sees His ordered creation and approves it. Earth and seas are not random features of the world. They are named places within God’s design.
